Guangzhou and Hong Kong Cantonese are the de facto standard of the Cantonese-speaking world. As metropolises, Canton and Hong Kong are major interfaces to the outside world and the language evolves much faster than the more isolated Four Counties area. As a result, many  terms that are disappearing in Cantonese are still in everyday use in Taishanese.

𢬿 [kai33] (Cantonese /kaai2/) is such a word. It is being replaced with 拎/ning1/ or 攞/lo2/ in modern Cantonese.

It means to carry by hand, as well as to be used as a means/tool to (do something) or for the purpose of.
